==== Description: ====
Webshare is an open source project created to make possible the management,
via a web browser, of files hosted on one or more ftp servers as easily as if
these documents were located on the local computer. Composed of scripts
written in PHP and Ajax, Webshare is compatible with the principal browsers.
Thanks to an administration module, users accounts are created and give
access to specified directories. The user can thus manage his personal
documents, according to rights which were conferred to him. He can carry out
all the usual operations on directories and files (open, copy, rename,
duplicate, remove, chmod, etc) in addition to adding comments. He can carry
out a search on the server, view the properties of an element, put an image
in the background, create a diaporama, and many other things. In the near
future, it will be possible to move/duplicate files of a ftp to another in
some clicks. The user interface is completely skinnable, can be viewed under
different forms (miniature, list, details) and be sorted according to
different criteria. Links can be created towards sites, images, etc, which
will be shown directly in preview icons. If a link is created towards a flow
RSS, only a simple click is needed to visualize information. All the options
are available in a very user-friendly context menu. Webshare is and will be
always in open source (GPL), however it is possible that if the project
become very serious and productive, a commercial license will be created in
parallel for the companies which would wish to include the project in an
service offer.
