==== Description: ====
The Carom Physics Engine is a high-precision physics library, written in C++,
that features a unique approach to collision detection, as well as standard
utilities like rigid body dynamics. It has built-in high-precision numerics
(big integers, and rational numbers), though this will eventually be replaced
with the superior GMP library. It will soon be judged at the CWSF (Canada-Wide
Science Fair) in Truro, after which the source code will be released.
Carom is written mostly in standard C++, but with reliance on assembly and
C99's stdint types; these dependencies will be removed upon migrating to
GMP.
Carom deals with Newtonian mechanics in three-dimensional space, currently
using the Euler algorithm to integrate numerically. Support for fourth-order
Runge-Kutta is being planned. Support for fluid dynamics is also planned, as
well as support for meshes. Speed, however, is the issue that is currently in
need of the most attention; it is hoped that migrating to GMP will solve the
majority of the speed problems.
