= Registration Administration =
While this item will be useful to track the registration process, *approving
or discarding the registration must be done using the specific Group
Administration
<https://savannah.gnu.org/siteadmin/groupedit.php?group_id=9656> page*,
accessible only to site administrators, effectively *logged as site
administrators* (superuser):
* Group Administration

= Registration Details =
* Name: *gmailreader*
* System Name: *gmailreader*
* Type: non-GNU software & documentation
* License: GNU General Public License v2 or later (My file gmailreader.py is
actually licensed with modified BSD license, but the program is dependent of
libgmail (GPLv2 only licensed), thus the project is GPL.
My package does not include libgmail, all I have is links for where to
download it. Uploading libgmail to savannah would be against savannah policy
because it's GPLv2 only and not GPLv2 or later.)
----
==== Description: ====
The purpose of the program is let people access their gmail e-mail accounts
without the need of a web browser. Also, without using gmail's POP3 interface.
That way the user can have his e-mails well organized on the web even without
using the web browser interface directly (you'll be able to have e-mail
separated by label, report spam, archive, mark e-mail as read, etc).
The language I chose to write it was Python, it's one of my favorite
languages and there's a library for it that helped me out a bunch. The library
access gmail's site, much like any browser would do, but it exports functions
that let me script what I want to send back to gmail in python.
==== Other Software Required: ====
libgmail
* License: GPLv2
* http://homepages.dcc.ufmg.br/~rafaelc/libgmail/
(oficial version at: http://libgmail.sourceforge.net)
Python 2.4
* License: PSF license
