==== Description: ====
Noteland is a desktop application paired with a web application for entering
and managing notes synchronized between a private local storage and a remote
repository.

Synchronization with a remote repository permits entering notes on one
computer, then continuing from another computer.

The focus of Noteland is on privacy, security, and accessibility.

Privacy: all transmitted and stored data is encrypted, so the remote storage
can be any web hosting provider on any domain with minimal requirements.

Security: all information is versioned, and located locally and remotely to
avoid accidental loss. Tampering with storage will be detected.

Accessibility: the desktop application will be cross platform, so you can
work from one operating system, then at home use another and access the same
notes. Since it is hosted on your own domain or location, it is unlikely to
be selected for blocking or filtering by corporate proxies.

The desktop application is cross-platform Java that uses an embedded
database. The web application will require only PHP and MySQL, supported by
most web hosting providers.

==== Other Software Required: ====
The desktop application depends on Java. The web application depends on PHP
and MySQL.
