While this item will be useful to track the registration process, *approving

accessible only to site administrators, effectively *logged as site

* Name: *kacq*
* System Name: *kacq*
* Type: non-GNU software & documentation
* License: GNU General Public License v2 or later (The only addition to the
license I would like to do is a note suggesting that when scientists are using
the software, they should mention it when their work is published.)

==== Description: ====
kacq is a data acquisition program written in c. It allows users to record
analog data from up to 64 channels simultaneously. It uses the drivers from
the comedi project and the visual interface is built using the GTK+ libraries.
The target users will be mainly electrophysiologists.
As far as I am aware, alternative software to perform similar tasks are not
free software and do not run on Gnu/Linux operating systems.
==== Other Software Required: ====
comedi, GNU GPL V2, http://www.comedi.org/
comedilib, GNU LGPL V2.1, http://www.comedi.org/
GTK+, GNU LGPL 2.1, http://www.gtk.org/
==== Other Comments: ====
The program will use the GNU build system, but that has not been successfully
implemented yet. The documentation is being developed with Texinfo.
