[Sks-devel] Unknown Server (mx.sapsan.ru) and Error I Haven't Seen Befor

From: John Clizbe
Subject: [Sks-devel] Unknown Server (mx.sapsan.ru) and Error I Haven't Seen Before
Date: Thu, 07 Jan 2010 11:38:18 -0600
User-agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9.1.6) Gecko/20091206 SeaMonkey/2.0 NOT Firefox/3.5.3

Was checking logs this morning, and I noticed several recon attempts from a
server not in membership, 88.210.56.230, starting about 1505 GMT. So I added it
temporarily to see what was up with it. Not much it turns out.

2010-01-07 10:05:06 Beginning recon as server, client: <ADDR_INET
[88.210.56.230]:5393>
2010-01-07 10:05:06 Joining reconciliation
2010-01-07 10:05:06 <reconciliation handler> error in callback.:
Failure("configuration of remote host (<ADDR_INET [88.210.56.230]:5393>)
rejected: filters do not match.\n\tlocal filters: [ yminsky.dedup yminsky.merge
]\n\tremote filters: [ yminsky.dedup ]")

Looks like recon was started without running 'sks cleandb'.

The IP address shows to be in Moscow, RU, but doesn't resolve to a name. Stats
page shows the name as mx.sapsan.ru
(sapsan.ru looks to be a wildcard with address 217.23.156.154)

Just a heads-up for the server admin should s/he contact the list for more
peers.

You can't spell fiasco without SCO. hkp://keyserver.gingerbear.net or
     mailto:address@hidden

Q:"Just how do the residents of Haiku, Hawai'i hold conversations?"
A:"An odd melody / island voices on the winds / surplus of vowels"
