texinfo 5 prevents building the info files due to changes in the @itemx requirements, notably all @itemx lines must immediately follow @item (which is unfortunate IMO).
Further, @subsubsection no longer works within @defun and I cannot tell from the documentation whether or not it ever "should" have.
Gentoo has noted this in one of their bugs so rather than include it all here...
