Hi Michael,

I'm a bit confused about what you are proposing.

The core server has no audio or tts processing at all.  This function is
handled in the modules.  All the server does is process connections from
clients (screen readers, or kttsd or whatever applications want to
speak).  It handles the messages that the clients send and passes them
over to the modules, which do the actual tts/audio processing.

I don't see the advantage of moving any of that processing to the server
since it has to be handled differently for each synthesizer.
