Just some thoughts on the Subscriptions List - no code and no promises 
(yet).

Pop-up menu - right clicking on a feed gives  presents the user with a 
pop up menu with the following options:
   Poll (polls the feed that was clicked)
   Mark as read (marks the items in the feed as read)
   Delete (brings up a confirmation dialog for deleting the feed)
   Properties (brings up a dialog where the user can change the name 
and url of the feed)

Make sorting available from the main window. Dragging a feed title to 
change the order. Clicking on the Subscriptions heading to sort in 
ascending/descending order etc.

Bringing the subscriptions tab of the preferences dialog in line with 
any changes made along the ideas specified above. ie. the delete button 
will bring up a confirmation dialog, edit the feed properties using a 
dialog rather than from within the tree view and the add button uses 
either the properties dialog or the subscription wizard.
