It would also be good to take account of machines with more than one
battery [I have two in mine]. In my GNU/Linux system the information is
in /proc/acpi/battery/BAT0, /proc/acpi/battery/BAT1, etc.
I have some code that I use for my own mode-line battery information
formatting, which I attach in case it's any use. I wrote it as a general
utility library, which is why it place all of the battery information
available into a struct.
