Since there are two separate conferences, we can think of each sponsoring their own keynote speakers, but with attendees from the other conference welcome to attend.

Is this OK with SwarmFest? The conferences overlap one day.

The two keynote speakers listed so far (Gasser and Bankes) are NAACSOS speakers, but probabably one of thm could be scheduled on the shared conference day? Bankes?.

I have a tiny conference budget, above and beyond the SWARM income, that can be used to bring in keynote speakers, so we could afford the travel costs of at least one keynote speaker without using SwarmFest income for that purpose.

I'll try to address the other comments on the registration page later today ... off to class right now!

We do have sufficient funds for travel. Paying travel for keynote speakers for speakers seem to me to be valuable use of SWARM funds. It does bring up
the issue of what directions SWARM should take in the next few years.

SwarmFest 2006 Organizing Committee,

So far NAACSOS has recruited Les Gasser (University of Illinois) and
Steve Bankes (Rand Corporation/Graduate School) as keynote speakers.

We should have one or two SwarmFest keynote speakers also!

On this list, I've heard Scott Page and Doyne Farmer suggested.

Has anybody contacted them.

Are either of interest for SwarmFest?

If yes, who should ask them?

We can cover their travel expenses if they agree to be a keynote
