I can't reproduce the crash with this file.

Could you run a 

    make clean
    ./configure --enable-debug
    make

in swftools basedir, and then run pdf2swf as

    gdb pdf2swf

? (Type "run test.pdf" after gdb started up, and once pdf2swf crashed,
type "backtrace")
