[Swftools-common] Verifying PDF

Is there a method to verified that a PDF complies with PDF specs before running it through PDF2SWF ?

We are constantly getting malformed PDF from clients which do not play well with PDF2SWF conversion, particularly with
GhostScript conversion to GIF.
