[Synaptic-devel] synaptic build errors

2 build errors, which seems trivial but I don't see the culprit.  Perhaps one 
of you see it:

1)
checking whether build environment is sane... yes
/home/richard/packages/BUILD/synaptic-0.55.3/missing: Unknown `--run' option
Try `/home/richard/packages/BUILD/synaptic-0.55.3/missing --help' for more 
information
configure: WARNING: `missing' script is too old or missing

The one that comes with synatic misses --run indeed.  I have automake-1.9 
installed and that knows the --run option...

2)  The other error is just strange.....
checking apt-pkg/configuration.h usability... no
checking apt-pkg/configuration.h presence... no
checking for apt-pkg/configuration.h... no
configure: error: You need the apt-pkg headers installed to compile synaptic.
error: Bad exit status from /tmp/rpm-tmp.71868 (%build)

But:
synaptic-0.55.3> locate apt-pkg/configuration.h
/usr/include/apt-pkg/configuration.h

synaptic-0.55.3> rpm -qf /usr/include/apt-pkg/configuration.h
apt-devel-0.5.15cnc6-rb.suse092.6

Now what may cause the problem above??
