[Synaptic-devel] Distribution switch again

Hello!

Some time ago, there was a discussion about adding the distribution 
switch (Preferences/Expert) to the main UI. There were some objections, 
like if it made sense to often switch distributions at all, and the main 
UI should not be cluttered.

Now I'd like to make a suggestion: Add a text label somewhere (e.g. in 
the rightmost part of the status bar) that just states the current 
distribution (like 'unstable'). When clicked, it opens the 
Preferences/Expert window so that one can change it quickly. Sounds like 
a compromise? :-)
