Hello,

I am currently checking portability of bootstraping the cvs on free
platforms (currently the *BSD on the gcc compile farm).

I came over an error because of
$(srcdir)/info.1: $(top_srcdir)/info/info.c $(srcdir)/ginfo.h2m \
   .....

Irrespective of why the BSD (NetBSD if I recall well) do not like it, I
think it is not correct, and will break out of source builds with
read-only sources, for instance -- something not caught by make
distcheck, although this is tested for, maybe because there is
this $(srcdir).

So, is there a reason why you used $(srcdir)/ in the rule?

There are also in tp/Makefile.am
$(srcdir)/Makefile.tres: maintain/regenerate_file_lists.pl
$(srcdir)/Makefile.documents_strings_mo_files: \

is there a reason here too, to have this $(srcdir)?
