read the question before answering it.
I think you can do that with the linux compatibility layer, which
would of course trick the compiler that it is running on Linux. I'll
try tonight and see if it works.
Usually what I do on new platforms is just take out the system-checker
requirement. I once got ia32 programs generated on ia64. You should
try modifying the configure script for this.
