In general are we being naughty by not putting "static" or "inline" in front of templated functions? It seems the compiler/linker lets us get away with it, but I'm not sure why.

With template functions, it has to be the same templated function in every file.. Same with inline.

With static and anonymous namespaces, you can have a different function of the same name in every file.
