    Remove expression templates from Gauss-Jordan
    
    Expression templates cause a 25% speed hit due to bug
    53844 in gcc (http://gcc.gnu.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=53844).
    No regression is seen after the bug fix in gcc version 189256.
    
    The old version will therefore remain in place for the time being.
