Thanks. That did it. I had tried the libdir with /mysql appended
also but it failed. I don't know why I did not try the -include-dir
param.

1.5.2 has not made it into the ports yet ;)
I do find a lot of peace in doing these things manually esp when
there are some patches which you don't find useful to be included into
the ports tree. I'll have to re-strategize so that I can use the ports.
