heavens to betsy, that's a very tuff call!
my immediate response would be "yes, and 'hell yes'" because i use them
both (depending on the remote box that i am visiting and the local box
that i am sitting on) and i have no end of mental 'format collisions'. :-)
my more thoughful response is "no, and 'hell no'" because i use them both
and they dont behave identically so this would probably confuse me. :-(
(me schizophrenic and attentively challenged? why, yes, i suppose so :-) )
my most thoughtful conclusion is that this is a good idea, but it should
be keyed to a variable so that we can choose our poison.

hmm, this is a nice enhancement too, but i think that i'd like to be able
to switch the whole thing off and on too.
