tramp (2.0.54); Can't display directories

Whenever I try to do dired from one GNU/Linux (fedora 3) system to another I get
the following message:

"apply: Reading directory: no such file or directory, /ssh2:address@hidden:/root/"

I'm using cvs GNU/Emacs GNU Emacs 22.0.91.1 (i686-pc-linux-gnu, X toolkit, Xaw3d scroll bars) of 2006-12-01 on dev-2.xxxx.com

Tramp version 2.0.54.
