Hello Michael.

I don't know which Tramp version you are using. The recent one is
2.1.12.
If it happens with that version as well, you might file a bug report
(including the debug buffer at tramp-verbose level 8), which will
provide more information.
The tramp version I'm using is 2.1.12 and emacs is GNU Emacs 22.1.1.
Attached is the log of opening a file remotely which is managed by
Git. I can see in the log that .svn and CVS dirs are searched but .git
(and .bzr, .hg) are not.
02:08:17 tramp-get-file-property (8) # /git/livejournal/cgi-bin/CVS/
Entries file-readable-p undef
02:08:17 tramp-get-file-property (8) # /git/livejournal/cgi-bin/.svn/
entries file-readable-p undef
In this message (http://www.opensubscriber.com/message/address@hidden/7876977.html
), posted to this list, I can see in the log that .git dirs are
searched as well so my instalation must be missing something... But
what?
Thanks for the help,
André Cruz
