Hello all,

Xouvert is not about changing the X11 protocol, but about making a
development branch implementation that maintains X11 standard and
releasing extensions and improvements to X11 in our branch faster than
Xfree can. We will not break any X11 functionality in our implantation,
period.

The key here is faster and more open development, not changing a
standard.

I think the licensing question is also addressed and answered in the
FAQ.

Also, did I mention that the Y window system project is also under an
open source license, with all code available? (see my previous post) I
would seem to me that picking some pieces from these projects (of course
with asking permission, and retaining their
licenses) could speed up the development of Xouvert.
