I'm experiencing the same feeling :-). Inertia in the X-Window 
world is big, given the complexity and the respectable 'history' 
accompaining it. Personally I started to work on this 4 years 
ago and multiple times I had to fight against people trying to 
explaining me that X was already good enough and nothing
new could be invented.
