I agree with the change (plus the additional improvements others have
suggested), which will make it possible for others to use the code
examples.

However, the manual is still licensed under the terms of the GFDL, a
licence which is not considered to meet the requirements of the Debian
Free Software Guidelines.  Therefore I believe it is not possible to
distribute under the amended terms, but debian-legal will be able to
give a more accurate analysis than myself (I see Henrique de Moraes
Holschuh is going to take care of this, thanks!).
