I replaced the internal ASX_VERSION_COMPARE in CVS with this new
function and it appears to do the trick with a simple 1.2.2 > 1.2.1.2
comparison for out zlib.  It looks like your tests will cover more
complex cases.  I won't install this in CVS permanently until
AS_VERSION_COMPARE ships with an official Autoconf release.  Thanks!
