Well, this Autoconf work has the explicit goal of a stable release.
(That's not to say it's not fun, but I'm listed as maintainer of
Libtool, and we're now rather off the nice 3-4 month release cycle
we've had there before.)

Kudos go entirely to Sven Mascheck here, who not only has a copy of the
release notes on his webpage, but also pointed this out to me.
