According to Ralf Wildenhues on 4/5/2008 7:33 AM:
| Which also means Autoconf 2.60 is needed for bootstrapping Autoconf
| (since Automake 1.10 requires that). Ugh. OK if you think that's
| ok, but that probably warrants documenting, too.

But configure.ac already does:

AC_PREREQ([2.60])

So no change on the installed autoconf front when bootstrapping git
autoconf. I've already dealt with the pain of having to stage installed
versions, when bootstrapping git autoconf onto an OpenBSD 4.0 machine with
only autoconf 2.59 pre-installed, so I know it's not necessarily pleasant,
but is possible.

So I will probably apply the patch, along with a mention of minimum
version requirements in README-hacking.

| I don't see the advantage of having dist-lzma in AM_INIT_AUTOMAKE.

Agreed - 1.10 is enough of a leap for now, that I won't require 1.10.1 nor
use the dist-lzma option for 2.62.

| All it does is error out if you don't have lzma, and avoid you the
| second command of
| make dist ; make dist-lzma

I didn't realize that; thanks for the tip.
