automake (GNU automake) 1.7.6
ltmain.sh (GNU libtool) 1.4.3 (1.922.2.111 2002/10/23 02:54:36)
autoconf (GNU Autoconf) 2.57

It was trying to link the "final" library against the "noinst_"
libraries. :-(

Well I have in my configure.in:

AM_INIT_AUTOMAKE([subdir-objects])

but subdir-objects has as an effect to place the objects in the same
directory as the sources, and it does not take an argument (does it
?).

Thank you Alexandre,
