Hello,

I had these problems previously with an earlier
Anubis release (I did report to the mailing list).

Here's the problem:

 - I have two computers, a server running GNU Anubis 4
 and a Windoze box which will be used to send mails
 using Mozilla Thuderbird as a MUA.

 - I will send mail as address@hidden

 - The global GNU Anubis anubisrc contains a translation
 section as follows:

 translate address@hidden into haischt

 - Below is a transcript from a GNU Anubis mail session:

CLIENT >>> AUTH CRAM-MD5(15)
SASL mech=CRAM-MD5, inp=NULL
CLIENT <<< 334 PDE0MzEyMzcxNDY3MjA2NTEyMDQ0LjBAbG9jYWxob3N0Pg==(54)
CLIENT >>> aGFpc2NodCA1MjJkYzkwMjk2ZjY2MDVlY2QzMDQ3NzY3Y2FiYTU5ZQ==(58)
> [8258] Found record for `haischt'.
> [8258] Authentication passed. User name haischt, Local user NULL. Welcome!
CLIENT <<< 235 Authentication successful.(32)
> [8258] Invalid user name: NULL
> [8258] UID:65534 (nobody), GID:65534, EUID:65534, EGID:65534
> [8258] Reading user configuration file NULL...
> [8258] Getting remote host information...
> [8258] Connected to smtp.abyssworld.de:25
> [8258] Starting SMTP session...

As you can see the local user is NULL. This happened
bevor as I was using identd (transparent) as an
authentication mechanism. What am I doing wrong?
