Hello Somebody,

I'm not sure autoconf is meant to run on this platform.

If it is, then the problem is:

after a succesful make install, (configured with
--prefix=/tmp/autoconf-beta3 run as ordinary user) I've tried the check
and that gives the following:

... (that means lots of previous output)

configure: exit 0
27. ./torture.at:94: FAILED near `torture.at:107'
========================
testsuite.log is created
========================

Please send `testsuite.log' to <address@hidden> together with all
the information you think might help.
gmake[2]: *** [check-local] Error 1
gmake[2]: Leaving directory `/tmp/autoconf-betat/autoconf-2.49e/tests'
gmake[1]: *** [check-am] Error 2
gmake[1]: Leaving directory `/tmp/autoconf-betat/autoconf-2.49e/tests'
gmake: *** [check-recursive] Error 1

BTW, may be that independent of the above error,but:
(As I see, in the configure script, which remained after the run, there is
a simple error:
if { (echo "$as_me:850: PATH=\".;.\"; conftest.sh") >&5
  (PATH=".;."; conftest.sh) 2>&5
  ac_status=$?
  echo "$as_me:853: \$? = $ac_status" >&5
  (exit $ac_status); }; then
  ac_path_separator=';'
else
  ac_path_separator=:
fi
seemengly, the PATH was not meant to be echoed, but to be set for running
conftest...)

If there is something else you need, ask for that,please!

Thank you:

sa
