Problems running make check on Solaris 6, 7 & 8

I am trying to upgrade to the latest version of autoconf on our solaris
machines. We have machines running solaris 6, 7 & 8. They all exhibit the same
beahvior when running make check. Also, this behavior does not change when
using
either gcc 2.95.3 or 3.0.x.

After entering make check and the initial start up has completed, you have to
hit the enter key to get the testsuite to begin executing.

For the following tests, you to hit enter key for them to complete:

 10: tools.at:447
ok
 11: tools.at:474
ok
 23: base.at:213
ok
 24: base.at:232

Then, the testsuite hangs on 25: torture.at:48. I left it on that test when I
went home last night and it is still there this morning. I even tried the enter
key like previous test. But, that didn't help.

I am compiling using the native sun as and ld. Everything is compiled the same
in that respect.

Thanks,
