The Autoconf manual already recommends that you should add
'config.log' and 'config.cache' to the list of files you remove
in 'distclean' targets.  Presumably 'configure.lineno' should
also be added to this list.  Also, some autom4te cache files
perhaps?

Automake should do this for you automatically, of course.

(Sorry, I don't have a patch; until someone comes up with one this bug
will remain unpatched.)
