Thanks, this is excellent news: it seems to say that we've almost a
working Autoconf on OS X.  The remaining problem:

is *only* due to the test itself, i.e., it does not reveal any
Autoconf weakness.

Nevertheless, I still have to find a means to rewrite the test to
please Zsh...  I will probably just skip it if /bin/sh is zsh.
