Hi Folks,

I received the following when trying to configure R version 6.1.2,
downloaded from http://cran.r-project.org/

I used the following command to execute the configure script,

        R_PAPERSIZE=letter CC=cc CFLAGS='-g3 -O2' MAKE=gmake ./configure

The build system is a old AlphaStation 500 running Tru64 UNIX 5.1A,
patch kit 2.
