wmmsg configure bug

I run:
Window Maker 0.80.1
Mandrake 9.1, i586
Kernel 2.4.21-0.13mdk on an i686.
I have untarred wmmsg-1.0.tar.gz to "/usr/X11R6/share/WindowMaker/wmmsg"
Upon running ./configure i get the bug:
