I'm not sure which of the last two we are, but we qualify :-)  I can
probably come up with a suitable shell fragment that can do the test,
but given our insane status, I'm hoping I can just add this to my
trivia stash and not have to bother....

Thanks for these; I'm agitating for something to get fixed, either
/bin/sh or bash.

I think I'm more-or-less stuck until I can get something patched or
upgraded, even if I do come up with a test for our buggy bash.
