[C++ preprocessor] error message

Hi autoconf team,

I use the autotools:
 autoconf  2.59
 aclocal & automake 1.8.5
 libtool   1.5.6

and I have a problem using the generated configure script.
I obtain an error message like ' C++  preprocessor "/lib/cpp" fails 
sanity check '
I have no C++ compiler or C++ preprocessor on my machine, but I don't 
need it to install my package.
I take a look on internet to have information, and I see that it is a 
known problem but I still don't have solution.

What can I do to solve this problem?
