To whom it may concern,

 

I was running the automatic "configure"-script on a SolarisOS 5.6, Sparc workstation.

 

I'm user "mysql" and set the PATH-var manually before calling the script.

called the script as proposed (gcc 2.95.2):

 

CFLAGS="-O3" CXX=gcc CXXFLAGS="-O3 -felide-constructors \
       -fno-exceptions -fno-rtti" ./configure \
       --prefix=/usr/local/mysql --enable-assembler \
       --with-mysqld-ldflags=-all-static
