bootstrap.sh didn't work for me. How about if you bootstrap it and
then create a tarball?
Here are the symptoms I observed, if that matters:
$ ./bootstrap.sh
autoreconf: Entering directory `.'
autoreconf: configure.ac: not using Gettext
autoreconf: running: aclocal --force -I config
autoreconf: configure.ac: tracing
autoreconf: configure.ac: not using Libtool
autoreconf: running: /tmp/prefix/bin/autoconf --force
configure.ac:71: error: possibly undefined macro: AC_DISABLE_STATIC
If this token and others are legitimate, please use m4_pattern_allow.
See the Autoconf documentation.
configure.ac:72: error: possibly undefined macro: AC_PROG_LIBTOOL
autoreconf: /tmp/prefix/bin/autoconf failed with exit status: 1
Reconfiguration done.
