autoconf bug?

I just do as it tells me. This was output when compiling
am-utils-6.0.9 on Gentoo Linux x86.
Linux kuro 2.6.11-ck1 #1 SMP Fri Mar 11 22:57:24 EST 2005 i686
Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 2.80GHz GenuineIntel GNU/Linux
