but I'd like to add a clarification:
The backward compatible behaviour presents an inconsistency between
AC_CONFIG_COMMANDS on one side and AC_CONFIG_{FILES,HEADERS,LINKS} on
another side.
As soon as this inconsistency causes some real problems, I'll be ready to
sacrifice the bacward compatibility.
So I'd still suggest to remove the extra pair of quotes.
