I cannot imagine any reason why an additional default-traced macro could
have caused any breakage whatsoever.  So if you have data to back this
up, and your patch did not also have any other component, I'd be
interested to see that, even if it applies to an old Autoconf version
only.

The only reason not all macros are traced by default is for efficiency
and size of the trace output file.
