Follow-up Comment #1:
Before we can start making a suggestion, someone (and it's not going to be me)
needs to identify an appropriate shell to suggest, i.e. a free-software
implementation of the Bourne shell language that is adequately POSIX compliant
for autoconf's purposes, but can itself be built on a system that doesn't have
any such shell. This will probably be an old release of either bash or ksh.
