Solaris 7 (on Ultra 5), .dtprofile (dtprofile.src
v1.10): "[Any] shell requested input will receive
an end of file character (Control-D)"
In a telnet session, my "exec ~/bin/bash -login"
in .profile works fine and I get my bash shell.
For the CDE login, I just get dumped back to the
login screen. My .dt/startlog and session logs
seem to show that bash is indeed getting a ^D.
I've also tried exec'ing /bin/sh and /bin/csh
from .profile and they do the same thing.
On an E450 runing SunOS 5.5 the "exec ~/bash"
from .profile works fine for both telnet and CDE
sessions.
Is this known behavior for Solaris 7? (also seems
to be that way for SunOS 5.6) Is this workstation
in need of some fixed (DT) configuration?
