Nevertheless I'm conviced it is a bash bug. I had done yesterday extensive
research, and it really should use "SIGTSTP" instead of "SIGSTOP" to
suspend itself.

I have already send you the patch yesterday (the one with #2). It is
also stored at http://www.eax.com/patches/bash.diff

Please let me know if I can be of any further, help or need to provide
more rationale behind this explanation, though I don't think I can do
better than Richard Stevens did it in his book (referenced in patch).
