Bash Version: 2.05a
Patch Level: 0
Release Status: release

Description:
I have compiled bash2.05a on a Unixware 7.1.1 system
(with the following pkgs installed - see below) with the native
compiler.
If I get into the system with an rsh invoking xterm, w and who don't
show any info on my user id.
If I get in by the means of telnet, this doesn't happen (i.e. w & who do
work).
When I change the user's shell from /usr/local/bin/bash to /usr/bin/ksh,
and log in, w and who works always (with the very same rsh invocation of
xterm as well
- the change of the shell in the password is the only difference). So I
assume it is the bash
that thinks I am not logged in (xterm is run with -ls, and, again, other
shells don't exhibit
the problem.)

Repeat-By:
Always happens - as per the Description.

Fix:
The current workaround I use is doing
exec /usr/local/bin/bash
from my .profile (read by ksh).

No real fix so far.
