Request regarding documentation (man bash)

Hello--

        Exporting the $PATH is one of the commonest task in UNIX Bash shell.
        It is only because it's late at night that I went to the man page in
order to look up the command for exporting the variable and could not
find a simple, trivial, example of how to do it.
        Please include a simple pratical example.
