readline/bash under LGPL/Artistic

Hi,

Is it possible, since readline is a genericly useful
library, to release it under the LGPL? We'd like to
provide it to our customers.

We also have a lot of requests for bash. Would it be
possible to do the same with bash (I know its not a
library but still, LGPL protects the freedom but
gives lawyers a warmer fuzzier feeling), or possibly
under some other free license such as the Artistic
license?

Any info would be greatly appreciated.
